- Stronger fireplaces last longer, break less, and withstand hotter temperatures. Our fireboxes can withstand more than 3000 pounds per square inch (psi). That is more than three times stronger than comparable Isokern models. In addition to using a proprietary blend of materials, FireRock fireplaces are also designed with thicker walls and rebar-reinforced load-spanning pieces to create the strongest fireplaces available.
- Isokern fireplaces have a square corner at the top of the opening that could create smoke turbulence and smoke spillage. FireRock utilizes a unique curved radius lentil which allows smoke to naturally curl into the chimney.
- Chimney size is an important factor that contributes to proper draw in a fireplace. Larger chimneys can pull in more smoke from the fireplace and prevent any smoke from escaping into the room. All FireRock fireplaces come with a massive 15″ flue opening, that’s 10% larger than anything Isokern offers.
Better Design
- Isokern’s flue system requires complicated lining and precise alignment of multiple chimney pieces. The FireRock masonry chimney system is a simple one piece system that doesn’t require any lining. Simply stack one block on top of the other and mortar together.
- A damper is used to keep the conditioned air in your home from escaping out the chimney when the fireplace is not in use. In addition to making the installation less complicated, FireRock’s nested damper promotes a tighter seal to keep conditioned air in the house and outside air out.
